House Rules
These guidelines help all members coexist harmoniously in a space shared by many community members. We aim to create a vibe of fun, playful and respectful members all working together to lift each other up!
Members will abide by rules and regulations as determined by The Forge and communicated via the Terms of Service, House Rules (this document), in the Forge app, and by email.
We may add, delete or amend the rules and regulations at our reasonable discretion and with notice to you, provided that neither the enforcement of such rules nor the additions, deletions or amendments of such rules shall be discriminatory—that is, such rules or additions will similarly apply to all Members.
1. Basic Rules:
- Members must be at least 21 years of age.
- Guests must be at least 18 years of age.
- Members will:
- be solely and fully responsible for ensuring that their Guests abide by the House Rules.
- be solely and fully responsible for ensuring that no alcohol is consumed by any of your Guests who is younger than 21 years of age.
- Limit the number of Guests and the duration of their stay.
- Register Guests at the front kiosk.
- Members and Guests will not:
- engage in any activity that is reasonably likely to be disruptive or dangerous to the Forge or any other Member or Guest.
- use the premises to conduct or pursue any illegal activities.
- use the premises to conduct any activity that is generally regarded as offensive.
- attach or affix any items to the walls or make any other alterations to the premises or bring any additional furniture into the premises without our prior written consent of the Forge management.
- harass other Members or Guests for any reason including race, color, national origin, sex (including pregnancy, gender identity, and sexual orientation), religion, disability, age (age 40 or older), or genetic information.
- bring Illegal drugs of any kind into the premises.
2. Respect Shared Spaces:
- Shared spaces are to be enjoyed by all Members and Guests, and are for temporary use and not as a place for continuous, everyday work.
- Members must provide the Forge management with reasonable notice of and complete details prior to hosting any event at the Forge.
- Members and Guests will:
- Keep communal areas tidy and organized.
- Clean up after themselves in the kitchen, meeting rooms, and common areas.
- Respect other people’s belongings.
- Be nice/courteous and respectful.
- Maintain a quiet working environment.
- Use headphones for phone calls or video conferences.
- Keep music to a low volume.
- Safeguard Forge property and will be liable for replacement fees should any such property be lost, stolen or destroyed.
- Foster a positive and supportive community atmosphere.
- Report any issues or concerns to Forge management promptly.
3. Reserved Desks and Areas:
- Members and Guests will respect designated workspaces and avoid using them if they are reserved.
- Members and Guests will not leave personal items at shared desks.
- Dedicated desk users should lock personal items in dedicated desk cabinets.
- Maintain a quiet working environment.
- Use headphones for music, phone calls, and video conferences.
4. Collaboration and Networking:
- We encourage collaboration and networking but Members and Guests should be mindful of noise levels in shared spaces.
- Members and Guests should utilize designated collaboration areas for group discussions.
5. Meeting Room Etiquette:
- Members should reserve meeting rooms in advance using our app.
- Members and Guests should keep meetings within the scheduled time to allow others access to the space.
6. Internet and Equipment Usage:
- Members and Guests should use the internet responsibly and avoid bandwidth-intensive activities during peak hours.
- Members and Guests should respect shared office equipment; report any issues promptly.
7. Food and Beverages:
- Members and Guests will:
- Consume food in designated areas, such as the kitchen or lounge.
- Dispose of food waste properly and keep communal spaces clean.
- Avoid leaving spoiled food or drinks in the refrigerator.
- Label your food, drinks, and other items left in shared spaces.
- Refrain from eating or drinking other people’s food or drinks.
8. Security and Access:
- Members will keep personal access apps secure.
- Members will report any suspicious activity or unauthorized individuals to management.
- For security reasons, we may, but have no obligation to, regularly record certain areas in the premises via video.
9. Workspace Personalization:
- Only dedicated desk members are allowed to personalize their workspaces.
- Avoid causing damage or making permanent changes to the workspace.
10. Adherence to Local Laws:
- Members and Guests will follow local laws and regulations within the Forge.
- Members and Guests will report any illegal or inappropriate activities to the appropriate authorities.
11. Privacy:
- We may disclose information about Members as necessary to satisfy any applicable law, rule, regulation, legal process or government request or as we otherwise deem reasonably necessary for the protection of the Forge, other Member Companies or other Members.
- Members and Guests should have no expectation of privacy or security with respect to the Forge’s Internet connection.
By adhering to these house rules, Forge Members and Guests can create a productive and respectful work environment for everyone.
